How to Install Canon PIXMA MG8250 Driver and Software

Method 1: Canon PIXMA MG8250 Driver and Software Installation Guide using Pre-downloaded Free Driver

In this case, we are going to install Canon PIXMA MG8250 without CD (Automatic Wizard)

Required things:

  1. A setup file for Canon PIXMA MG8250. Said file can be downloaded from the link available below.
  2. A USB cable to be used to connect your computer to the printer. Use the USB cable that the printer comes out of the box with.

Steps to take to commence installing Canon PIXMA MG8250 printer driver with a setup file:

  1. You need to first turn on both your Canon PIXMA MG8250 printer and computer.
  2. The USB cable should not be plugged in at this stage, neither to your computer nor the printer. Wait until the system specifies when the cable needs to be plugged in.

  2. A program called Common Unix Printer Service (CUPS) to be installed on the computers.

How to Uninstall Canon PIXMA MG8250 Driver and Software

On Windows

  1. Find the Windows button on your computer’s keyboard. Press it.

How to Setup Canon PIXMA MG8250 Wireless Connection

(Note: This guideline only works for printer compatible with wireless connection)

Required things:

  1. A physical button of WPS-feature on the printer’s body.
  2. A network secured by either WPA or WPS system.

Step 1

  1. The home button should be pressed to begin the process.

Step 2

  1. Get to the WLAN Setup icon using the navigation arrows. Select the WLAN Setup icon.
  2. The printer’s left function button should be pressed.

Your printer’s LED indicator will light up to indicate that the wireless connection is enabled and that it is now scanning for available network that uses WPS system.

Step 3

  1. The printer’s WPS button should be pressed and held for 5 seconds straight, after which you can release it.
  2. Press the OK button after 2 minutes.
  3. The connection has now established. Complete the setup process by pressing the OK button.

Keep in mind that for this to work, Canon PIXMA MG8250 printer driver should have been installed beforehand.

Contact the manufacturer if connection keeps failing.

Standard Connection Setup

Step 1

  1. The home button should be pressed to begin the process.

Step 2

  1. Get to the WLAN Setup icon using the navigation arrows. Select the WLAN Setup icon.
  2. The printer’s left function button should be pressed.

Your printer’s LED indicator will light up to indicate that the wireless connection is enabled and that it is now scanning for available network that uses WPS system.

Step 3

  1. The printer’s Stop/Reset button should be pressed.
  2. Go to Standard setup using the navigation arrows. The OK button should be pressed following this. Setup process should begin immediately.
  3. Choose an access point using the navigation arrows. Press the OK button.

You may press the left function button once again to restart scanning for a network had the connection you use not appeared on the list at the first attempt.

  1. Input your password and press the OK button. Password can be fed into the printer following these instructions:
  2. Your password is case-sensitive. As such, try to press the center function button to change mode from lower case, upper case, and numeric.
  3. Choose the character you want to select using navigating arrows. Confirm selection using the OK button. Move from a character to another using the OK button as well.
  4. Repeat steps (a) and (b) to form a complete password to input.
  5. Enter the password by pressing the left function button.
  6. If needed, you can edit the password by pressing the OK button.
  7. Left function button should be pressed to confirm a full password. Complete the process by pressing the OK button.

Keep in mind that for this to work, Canon PIXMA MG8250 printer driver should have been installed beforehand.

Factory Default Setting for Canon PIXMA MG8250

Step 1

  1. The home button should be pressed to begin the process.

Step 2

  1. Go to Setup icon using navigation arrows.
  2. The printer’s left function button should be pressed afterward.

Step 3

  1. Go to Device Settings using the left navigation arrow.
  2. The printer’s home button should be pressed.

Step 4

  1. Go to the LAN Settings using the up navigation arrow.

  3. Select YES by using the down navigation arrow. The reset process should commence.
  4. The OK button should be pressed afterward.
  5. The reset process should begin. A message telling to wait while the process begins appears.
  6. Finish the process by pressing the OK button.

How to Scan Documents Using Canon PIXMA MG8250

(Note: This only works for printer compatible with scanner)

For Windows users

Required things:

  1. MP Navigator EX software, which is contained on the installation CD out of the box. You can also download the software from the link below.
  2. A computer.

Steps:

  1. First, install the MP Navigator EX software on your computer.
  2. Follow this path: Start à Programs à Canon Utilities à MP Navigator EX à MP Navigator EX.
  3. Head on to Photos/Documents.
  4. Lift the scanner’s lid up. Insert the document and position it on the glass surface directly
  5. Feed the values you prefer on the screen and then click on the Scan button.
  6. Scanning process should start.
  7. Save the scanned file on the computer by choosing the “Save” (to keep the document as JPEG files) or “Save as PDF” (to save the document as PDF).

For MacOS users

Required things:

  1. A printer with scanning capability, such as Canon PIXMA MG8250 for example.
  2. A USB cable to connect the printer to your Mac.

Steps:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your Mac to Canon PIXMA MG8250.
  2. Select the Apple menu.
  3. Select System Preferences.
  4. Select View.
  5. Select Print & Scan.
  6. Locate a plus (+) sign. The sign should be at the bottom left section of the Printers window.
  7. Select the scanner/printer you have just connected.

  1. Position the documents to be scanned directly on the glass surface.
  2. Go to Image Capture: go to Dock à Launchpad à type “Image Capture” on the available fields.
  3. A menu of “Scan To:” appears. Specify where you want to save the scanned files to.
  4. Begin scanning by clicking on the “Scan” button.

(Note: Only works with printer compatible with Google Cloud Print service)

Instructions on How to Use Google Cloud Print Service on non-Cloud-ready Printers:

Required things:

  1. A computer already installed with a Google Chrome browser.
  2. A printer connected to the computer via either a local access network or a USB cable.

Steps:

  1. Turn the computer on and open the Google Chrome browser. On the Chrome, sign in to your Google account.
  2. Locate the Menu button on the browser. Find it on the top right area of the browser. Open the Menu.
  3. Navigate to Settings.
  4. You will be presented with a new window onscreen. Find the “Show Advanced Settings” option. The option should be somewhere at the bottom side of the window. Select it.
  5. Connect your account with Google Print service by selecting “Sign in to Google Print”.
  6. Click on “Add Printer(s)”.
  7. Click on “Manage Your Printers”.
  8. A new window pops up. Find “Printers” to the left side of the window. Select it to display a list of printers your computer is connected to.
  9. The printer you set will be maintained as the primary outlet for printed materials when you print directly from the Chrome.

Instructions on How to Use Google Cloud Print Service on Cloud-ready Printers:

Required things:

  1. A computer already installed with a Google Chrome browser.
  2. A cloud-printing-enabled printer.

Steps:

  1. Turn the computer on and open the Google Chrome browser. On the Chrome, sign in to your Google account.
  2. Locate the Menu button on the browser. Find it on the top right area of the browser. Open the Menu.
  3. Navigate to Settings.
  4. You will be presented with a new window onscreen. Find the “Show Advanced Settings” option. The option should be somewhere at the bottom side of the window. Select it.
  5. Connect your account with Google Print service by selecting “Sign in to Google Print”.
  6. Click on “Add Printer(s)”.
  7. Click on “Manage Your Printers”.
  8. A new window pops up. Find an option of “Add a Cloud-ready Printer” on the left side of the window. Select that option to display printer manufacturer list.
  9. Choose your printer manufacturer.

How to print:

  1. Find a Menu button on the Chrome browser, which should be located at the top tight area of the window.
  2. Click on the Menu option to open dropdown menu. Find “Print” and select it.
  3. Find the printer you connect with the service. Select “Change…”; this button is located under the tab of Destination, which is to the left of the menu.
  4. Choose your printer.
  5. Input your preferred values: margins, page layout/orientation, page range, etc.
  6. Select Print button to begin printing immediately.

Instructions on How to Use AirPrint Service

(Note: Only works for printer compatible with AirPrint)

Required things:

  1. AirPrint-supported iDevices (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad).
  2. Bonjour software. The software should have already installed on the devices.
  3. A printer with wireless capability.
  4. Both device(s) and printer should share the same 802.11 wireless LAN network.

Steps:

  1. Turn your iDevice(s) and the printer as well. Make sure both use the same LAN network.
  2. On your iDevice(s), access any applications of your choice.
  3. Find an arrow icon on the app. Bring forth menu options by tapping the arrow icon.
  4. You will be presented with a dropdown menu. Go to “Print”.
  5. Select the printer you use.
  6. Tap either the (+) or (-) to specify the number of copies you prefer.
  7. Tap the On/Off button to enable or disable the duplex printing option.
  8. To print multiple pages of document, tap “Range” and tap “All pages”. Alternatively, you can manually set the page range to print.
  9. Tap “Print” to begin the process.
